Clarification on the Temporary Pause in Certain U.S. Immigrant Visa Processing

The U.S. Government has announced a temporary administrative pause affecting specific immigrant visa categories for nationals of 75 countries, including Liberia. This measure is linked to the application of U.S. immigration regulations, including public charge–related assessments and documentation requirements, and is not a country-specific sanction.

President Boakai Welcomes U.S. Visa Reciprocity Decision Extending Validity to 36 Months

October 29, 2025, Executive Mansion, Monrovia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., welcomes the decision of the United States Department of State to revise its visa reciprocity schedule for Liberia, extending the validity period for certain nonimmigrant visas from 12 months to 36 months.
In an official statement released today by the US State Department, the United States Government announced the extension of stay duration of various categories of visas for Liberians visiting the United States.

President Boakai Makes the Case for Liberia in Japan

Washington DC, 08/21/25: Since his arrival in Japan, for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has met several key leaders to make the case for a stronger bilateral cooperation between Japan and Liberia.
An Executive Mansion release noted that President Boakai met with Japanese Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba in a meeting that provided an opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation existed between Liberia and Japan for more than six decades.
