Washington DC. January 30, 2024; His Excellency President Joseph Nyumah Boakai Sr. has assured Liberians that his government will do all in its power to keep their hopes alive. President Boakai in his first Annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered on January 29, 2024, pointed out " we all have what it takes to overcome all the burdens we have imposed on ourselves through greed and corruption". He pointed out “When we work together, there is nothing we cannot overcome as a people".

Liberians Celebrate Independence with Cultural Extravaganza on Embassy Grounds in Washington D.C.

The Embassy of Liberia near Washington DC in collaboration with the Friends of the Liberian Embassy (FOLE) and the Liberian Community Association (LCA) DC-Metro Area hosted a grand cultural Extravaganza to commemorate the 176 Independence Anniversary of Liberia. The program was held on the grounds of the Embassy near Washington DC on Saturday, July 22, 2023. It brought together hundreds of Liberians from the surrounding states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland and the District of Columbia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet of the Republic of Liberia, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. on Wednesday, March 22, held talks in Washington D.C. with United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Madam Molly Phee. The meeting between the two took place at the U.S. State Department and focused on ways to strengthen democracy - with emphasis on the upcoming elections, as well as issues of good governance and respect for fundamental human rights.
