Washinton DC. August 15,2024. The Embassy of Liberia near Washington DC recently played host to 13 promising young men and women who represented Liberia in this year’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.

One of Liberia’s Female television broadcast Icons, Welma Mashinini Redd who is currently the President of the Liberian Community Association (LCA) in the Washington DC metro area, graced the occasion.

According to the Corporate Council on Africa, the Millenium Challenge corporation (MCC) will host a special 20th Anniversary Tribute Dinner with former US President George W. Bush. Washington DC. January 30, 2024; His Excellency President Joseph Nyumah Boakai Sr. has assured Liberians that his government will do all in its power to keep their hopes alive. President Boakai in his first Annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered on January 29, 2024, pointed out " we all have what it takes to overcome all the burdens we have imposed on ourselves through greed and corruption". He pointed out “When we work together, there is nothing we cannot overcome as a people".

The Embassy of Liberia on Tuesday, February 7th played host to Indiana Colts wide end receiver Kwity Paye.

The 261lbs, 6-2-foot NFL star and two-man delegation including Creative Artist Miya Ball and Congressional staffer Matthew Fidel were showered with warm wishes by Liberia’s Ambassador accredited near Washington DC, H.E. Jeff G Dowana Sr. and his diplomatic staff in the conference room of the embassy.

December 11, 2022 – President Dr. George Manneh Weah, today, December 11, landed in Washington DC to attend the US Africa Leaders Summit.

Dr. and Mrs. Weah and delegation arrived at the Ronald Reagan Airport a little after mid day and were greeted by the Liberian Chief Of Mission accredited to the US, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Jeff G. Dowana as well as Deputy Chief of Mission Isaac C. Yeah and Minister Counselor for Trade and Investment Sophia T. Mawlue.
