Washington DC, January 30, 2025 The government of Liberia is actively cooperating with the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia and the U.S. Department of State to address the planned deportation of the alleged 1,500 Liberians who are speculated to be on the list for deportation by the Trump Administration.

The Government is committed to protecting the interests of its citizens abroad and is diligently seeking solutions to the deportation issue.

Liberia's Foreign Minister, Her Excellency Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is discussing this matter with the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia and has requested to meet with the new U.S. Secretary of State to explore alternatives to deportation.

The Government of Liberia values its partnership with the U.S. and is working closely to find a mutually beneficial solution.

The administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. is dedicated to ensuring the welfare and safety of all Liberian citizens abroad and will continue to strive for a resolution that protects their interests.
