Washington, DC - August 19, 2024: The Ambassador of Liberia to the United States of America, His Excellency Jeff Gongoer Dowana Sr., Is calling for unity and support for the Liberian Olympic contingent of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite not securing any medals, the Ambassador commends the eight athletes for their resilience and encourages them to persevere in their pursuit of excellence.
Ambassador Dowana extends special acknowledgment to the Liberian Americans among the athletes, highlighting their dual heritage and the strong bond they share with their motherland. The Liberian American athletes are Joseph Fahnbulleh, Emmanuel Matadi, Thelma Davies and Ebony Morrison. Others are Destiny Smith-Barnett, John Sherman, Akeem Sirleaf, and Jabez Reeves.
