CONGRATULATIONS MADAM PRESIDENT!
Washington, D.C. - January 16, 2012:  On the historic occasion of the Inauguration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for a well deserved second term of six years, the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Washington, D.C., on behalf of the Liberian Diaspora Community and friends of Liberia, wishes to extend profound congratulations and sincere best wishes to the President and the incoming administration.
Indeed, President Sirleaf’s re-election to a second term on November 8, 2011, represents a vivid manifestation of the high confidence reposed in her by the people of Liberia, owing to the exceptional leadership qualities she exhibited during the first term of her presidency.
In this connection, the Embassy hastens to recall some of the major reform agenda undertaken during the first term, which included, the successful restoration of Liberia’s tainted international image, rebuilding the country’s ruined economy and infrastructure, reforming the security sector, forgiveness of the country’s external debts  by international lenders and institutions, improving of investment  climate  and also putting into place a system of good governance and the rule of law. Thus, the Embassy wishes to  commend all of Liberia’s international partners, including the  government  and people of the United States, United Nations, the European  Union, African Union, Economic Community of West African  States, as well as Non-governmental  Organizations for their  continued assistance in the reconstruction and peace-building in Liberia.
In view of President Sirleaf’s remarkable leadership during her first term, Liberians are assured that her second term will also be marked by great success in the country’s quest for national reconstruction, reconciliation and renewal.
