Liberian Embassy Participates in Peace Corps Advocacy Event

Washington, D.C.- March 2, 2017: The Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs, Mrs. Famatta Morris Deline, represented the Embassy of Liberia at the 2017 National Peace Corps Association’s National Days of Action, held at Capitol View Business and Conference Center in Washington, DC. Among those who made remarks at the event were Congressman John Garamedi and Congressman Joe Kennedy.The meeting, which brought together retired Peace Corps Volunteers and embassy representatives from other Peace Corps host countries, met with Members of the United States Congress and Staff to highlight the important role of the Peace Corps and the need to ensure more funding to enable the Peace Corps carry out its functions around the world.The main purpose for the event was to impress upon Members of the United States Congress that Peace Corps Volunteers are an essential part of U.S. foreign policy investments, and a leading champion of stability and peace around the world.Below, please find photos from the Peace Corps event.
