Former President Of Liberia Passes Away

The Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Washington, D. C. presents its compliments to the United States Department of State and all Diplomatic Missions  in Washington DC, and hereby announces with regrets,  that former President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Mr. Moses Blah passed away on April 1, 2013 at the age of 65 years.

Moses Zeh Blah was a Liberian politician who formerly served as Ambassador to Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. Later, he served as Vice President of Liberia under President Charles Taylor and became the 23rd President of Liberia on 11 August 2003, following Taylor's resignation. He served as President for two months, until 14 October 2003, when a United Nations-backed transitional government, headed by Gyude Bryant, was sworn in. President Blah, who spoke fluent German, English French and Arabic was born in Toweh Town, Nimba County, near the Ivorian border

A condolence book will be opened for signing at the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia at 5201 16th Street, N.W., Washington DC, 20011 on Wednesday, 17th through Friday, 19 April 2013, from 10: 00 am to 12: pm and 2:00 to 4:pm.
