 Embassy of Liberia Extends Condolences to the Sulunteh Family for the Passing of Mrs. Sulunteh

Washington, D.C.: October 22, 2018: The Ambassador and staff of the Embassy of Liberia near Washington have extended profound condolences to Ambassador Jeremiah C. Sulunteh and Family for the death of Mrs. Kabeh G. Sulunteh, wife of Ambassador Sulunteh, which sad event occurred on October 3, 2018 in Ontario, Canada. She was 49.

During the tenure of service of H.E. Jeremiah Sulunteh as Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the United States with accreditation to Canada and Mexico from 2012 to 2016, Mrs. Sulunteh, according to the staff in their collective voice, was a mother, a caring and lovely person who established and exhibited strong and positive interpersonal relationships with members of the Embassy staff.

Mrs. Sulunteh, who earned a B.A. degree from York University in Toronto, Canada in Development Studies with emphasis on “Women Issues,” was a strong advocate for girls’ education in Liberia.

In a letter to Ambassador Sulunteh on behalf of the staff of the Embassy, H.E. Lois Lewis Brutus, Liberia’s Ambassador to the United States, extended “sincere and profound condolences to you and your family for the passing away of your beloved Wife and Partner, Mrs. Kabeh G. Sulunteh.”

Ambassador Brutus concluded, “May the Lord our God put His sweetness into the bitterness of your grief.”

Mrs. Sulunteh’s body has been flown to Liberia for burial.

The following are the schedules of services for the late Mrs. Sulunteh:

Saturday, October 13, 2018: Memorial Service, held at the All Nations Full Gospel Church, East Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The Embassy was represented at the Memorial Service by Mr. Elmore Hanky Delaney, Director of Embassy Logistics and Procurement, who conveyed a message of condolence to Ambassador Sulunteh and the bereaved Family.

Saturday, October 27, 2018: Funeral Services in Monrovia, Liberia

a)       Removal of body from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Parlors at 8:00 am and taken to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 14th St., Sinkor, Monrovia

b)      Wake-keeping at 9:00 am

c)       Funeral Service at 10: am
